25th Annual Marshall County Rotary Charity Auction continues tonight and tomorrow

auctionDRAFFENVILLE – The 25th Annual Marshall County Rotary Auction kicked off last night and runs through Saturday, March 28th.

Over the years, the event has become a community tradition funding numerous charitable programs – all of which benefit local youth. The event provides much needed funding for programs such as ‘Teachers Helping Kids’ which enables teachers to spend up to $250 per year, per child to assist in the purchase of needed clothing or hygiene items.
Proceeds from the auction are also used to fund the ‘Toys for Kids’ program which assists hundreds of local families at Christmas time.

Additionally, the Rotary awards eight $1,000 scholarships each year to some very deserving students, in addition to supporting various other programs– and it’s all possible because locals come out each and every year to support this event. Rotarian members spend months preparing for this auction, donating their time, talents and resources to have hundreds of products donated to the cause.

The auction starts again today at 4 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. tonight and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday March 28th and is broadcast over the airwaves of WCBL 99.1 FM. Items can be viewed and picked up at the Majestic restaurant in Draffenville.

Among many others, today’s auction items include a Lowrance Elite 4 Fish Finder, 8-hour pontoon rental from KY Dam Marina, Grand-Ole Opry package, massages, gift cards and baskets, a 100-lb whole hog donated by Magic Valley BBQ, MCHS basketball season tickets and much more.
