BENTON – Nathan Solomon signed on Thursday to run track for Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro. Nathan has been a multi-sport athlete at Marshall County, excelling in soccer, basketball and track.
“Nathan is a tremendous athlete”, Head Coach Jared Rosa said. “He has excelled at multiple sports and I am thankful to have him as a part of the track team.”
Nathan runs the 100, 200 and 400 meter races as well as the sprint relays and is only a second or two away from the school record in the 200 and 400 meters.
He was a part of the 4 x 100 regional championship relay team which also qualified for the state meet at the University of Louisville, breaking the school record.
Coach Rosa said he would put Nathan up against any sprinter in the state and look for him to be one of the top sprinters at the end of the season.
“I’m glad he is going to pursue running in college and equally glad he will get coaching from Tony Rowe at Kentucky Wesleyan College”, Rosa said.
Along with being a key member of the Marshall County basketball team, Nathan helped to lead the Marshals soccer team to a district and regional title this year, receiving 1st Team All-Region honors.
