Three arrested after reports of suspected drug activity lead to searches by Probation and Parole

drugarrestsMARSHALL COUNTY – Report of suspected drug activity has led to the arrest of three individuals following searches of local residences by Marshall County Detectives and Probation and Parole.

According to police reports, a search of a residence on Yacht Drive on February 25th led to the discovery of a syringe, corner baggie and burned foil. The syringe field tested positive for Methamphetamine. Twenty-four year old Chase G. Barnes, of Gilbertsville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Then on Thursday, a second search was conducted at a residence located on Dunn Cemetery Lane following reports of possible drug activity at the home of 40 year-old Paul Holman. Officers located a pen casing which field tested positive for Methamphetamine. The subject admitted to using the drug. A cigarette cellophane wrapper was also discovered with white powdery residue.
Forty year old Holman, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The same day, detectives assisted with yet another search on Fulks Rd. where they discovered a glass pipe containing meth residue, a small amount of crystal meth, digital scales, cut straws containing residue and 5 grams of “spice”, a synthetic cannabinoid. Mark T. Travis 56, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoid.

All three offenders were lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
