
DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County football player, Iverson Ware, signed his National Letter of Intent Wednesday to play football for Kentucky Wesleyan in Owensboro.
Iverson is a four year member of the Marshall County football team and a major contributor on both sides of the football his junior and senior seasons.
Iverson came to camp in the best shape of his life in 2014 and transitioned from a career offensive and defensive lineman to a running back and linebacker for his senior season.
On the offensive side, Iverson served as a blocking fullback but did have 41 carries and scored two touchdowns on the year.
Defensively, he will leave big shoes to fill. He led the team with 85 tackles on the year and was instrumental at middle linebacker, knowing all the calls and at times making on field adjustments.
Iverson said he enjoyed his interactions with the Panthers coaches during this process and they made him feel at home.
“It’s a good decision for me with the opportunities I will have there”, Iverson said.
Coming off a 7-4 season, Head Coach Brent Holsclaw anticipates signing 30-35 freshman for next season.
Kentucky Wesleyan will open their fall 2015 season at Murray State.
