Overturned semi tractor trailer results in fatality Monday night

fatal-crashUPDATE: An official release from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver as Garry D. Brown, 61, of Calvert City. Brown was westbound on I-24 when he exited the roadway on the right shoulder. Brown’s vehicle traveled into a ditch, struck an embankment and came to rest on a tree. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
Original Story: MARSHALL COUNTY - A fatal semi-tractor trailer crash has closed a portion of I-24 westbound near the 25 mile marker.
West bound traffic is being exited off at the 25mm for a detour along US 62 WB to Exit 16.


National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory for Tuesday

The National Weather service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory due to the potential for a line of freezing rain and sleet along the Ohio River border counties that could push farther south.

Benton man killed in single-vehicle collision Sunday morning

fatalBENTON - A Benton man has been killed overnight in a single-vehicle collision on US Highway 641 North.
According to police reports, Joshua Shelbourne was traveling north on U.S. 641 approximately two miles north of Draffenville when his vehicle hydroplaned on water that was pooling on the roadway surface due to rain.
