In the Republican race to secure the US Senatorial Seat currently held by Mitch McConnell, challenger Matt Bevin fell short in Marshall County 63 to 35 percent, having gotten only 563 votes to the incumbent’s 1,011.

Marshall County Gun Club seeking alternate location for range after water issues discovered at proposed site

gunrange4BENTON - Plans to construct the Marshall County Gun Range are currently on hold as members of the planning committee seek new land to proceed with the project. An underground water source has posed unsurmountable challenges for the project, after being discovered by crews doing site-prep work at the range.

Law enforcement seeking escaped Marshall County inmate

escapeBENTON - On May 20, 2014 Mr. Richard McKinney walked away from the Marshall County Detention Center. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt. Mr. McKinney is also described as having shoulder length brown hair, shaved on the sides, and pulled back into a ponytail. He has a large abscess on his face above the right eye. Mr. McKinney is originally from Princeton KY and could possibly be in route back to Caldwell County. Mr. McKinney has left by unknown means, in an unknown direction of travel. New plant will supply Westlake Vinyls, Inc. and expand merchant gas presence in the region

airCALVERT CITY - Airgas, one of the nation's leading suppliers of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, and related products, has announced that it has signed a long-term agreement to build an air separation unit (ASU) to supply tonnage oxygen and nitrogen via pipeline to Westlake Vinyls, Inc., a Westlake company, at its expanded Calvert City manufacturing complex.
