Hoopfest 2021 – 17 games over three days

A frequent visitor to the Marshall County Hoopfest, Kentucky coach John Calipari and assistant coach Jai Lucas, sit courtside Saturday to watch 6’11” Yahon Traore with Dream City Christian.

After 17 great high school basketball games over three days, the 25th edition of the Marshall County Hoopfest is in the books. The Grind Session hosted two additional games on Sunday.

Fans were treated to games that included Region 1 teams from Marshall County, Graves County, Murray High and McCracken County along with Lyon County from Region 2. Several pre-season top ranked teams across the state included Louisville Ballard, Ashland Blazer and Male – all three ranked in the top five.

Many players on the court at the Hoopfest have already made commitments to top collegiate programs. Four players from Prolific Prep, Calif., include Adem Bona (UCLA), M.J. Rice (Kansas), Tre White (USC) and Dior Johnson (Oregon).

North Gwinnet, Ga. has Clemson commit R.J. Godfrey and Brandon Miller with Cane Ridge, Tenn. has committed to Alabama. Male’s Kaleb Glenn is going to Louisville.

Two players from Dream City Christian include Shawn Phillips (NC State) and Yohan Traore who drew Kentucky Head Coach John Calipari to the Hoopfest. Traore, the fourth ranked player in the nation according to Rivals.com, currently has over 20 offers.
