4-Hers Get in the Holiday Spirit

4-Hers making holiday prints, décor and more.

Twenty-nine Marshall County 4-Hers attended a celebration of the holidays at the 17th Annual 4-H Holiday Workshop on Saturday, November 20th at the Marshall County Extension Office. During the workshop, the 4-Hers learned to make several crafts and taught how to prepare holiday treat favorites. Several plan to give their handmade items to friends and family on their Christmas gift list.

The 4-Hers worked on several crafts, these included: oven-baked clay ring bowls, canvas holiday prints, docking stations, Scandinavian Gnomes, and a Gift in a Jar. Each 4-Her was given a Christmas train made from assorted candy and melted snowman cookies for snacks.

The holiday workshop was led and coordinated by Roxanne Lee, Marshall County Program Assistant. No program is complete without the help of our adult volunteers. Ashleigh Jones and Deborah Dawdy assisted with the event, helping make all the trains, cookies and helped individuals during the workshop. Lena Mallory, 4-H Agent also helped to make this year’s workshop one of the best.

Holiday Workshop participants were helped by 4-H teen leaders – Morgan Westerfield, Emily Rowland and Baella Morgan. The teens assisted in helping 4-Hers complete their various projects. They are a valuable part of our workshop’s success.
