Lady Marshals top the field at Bowling Green Invitational

The Lady Marshals picked up their seventh tournament title on Saturday of the 2021 season at the Women’s Bowling Green Invitational with a team score of 317 (+29). They won by six strokes over Sacred Heart Academy with a score of 323 (+35) among a field of 16 teams.

A par by Savannah Howell on her final hole and a bogey from Lyon County’s Cathryn Brown sent the two into a playoff tied at 75 (+3) to determine individual medalist. Howell parred the first playoff hole but Brown sunk a birdie to take the win.

Trinity Beth finished third, one stroke back at 76 (+4). Megan Hertter tied for 11th with a round of 80 (+8). Elsie Riley shot 86 to finish tied for 25th and Katie Roberts shot 87 and tied for 27th place.

The team will head to Lexington this weekend to play in the KGCA All State Championship at the UK Club Sept. 18-19.
