Lady Marshals 5-0 in 2nd District, 11-3 overall

Zoe Maxlow with a corner kick earlier this season, leads the Lady Marshals with eight goals this season along with Kelsey Crass who also has eight.

Saturday against Greenwood (8-4) the Lady Marshals fell 1-0, losing just their third game of the season and head into two games this week against St. Mary (3-5) and Graves County (9-2-1) with a record of 11-3.

In the September 3-4 DC Electric Lady Marshals Classic, the Lady Marshals shut out both Anderson County and Daviess County by the same score of 3-0. The three goals in the win over Anderson County came from Kinsley Perry, Zoe Maxlow and Mia Teague with assists from Maxlow and Kelsey Crass. Parker Perry had six saves.

Teague, Crass and Maxlow scored the three goals in the win over Daviess County with assists by Crass and Kallen Fuller. Perry had five saves.

The Lady Marshals improved to 5-0 in district games with their 2-0 shut out over Murray on Tuesday. Goals came from Crass and Kinsley Perry with assists going to Anna Robertson and Maxlow. Perry recorded four saves and picked up her state-leading 10th shut out of the season.

Greenwood’s Lady Gators came to Colburn Stadium on Saturday and scored a goal by Kayelee Maners in the first minute of the game which turned out to be the only goal. Perry had eight saves and Greenwood keeper Ellie Ramsing had three saves.

According to Maher Rankings released on Sunday, Greenwood is #12 and the Lady Marshals #13 in state rankings.

The Lady Marshals rank fourth in the state in goals allowed per game with an average of 0.5 and tied for second in shut outs with Notre Dame, behind Sacred Heart with 11.
