Lady Marshals follow loss to Sacred Heart with wins over Oldham County and Hopkinsville

Hope Howard scored in the final seconds of a scoreless game against Oldham County on Saturday to give the Lady Marshals game a 1-0 win.

Three games over three days for the Lady Marshals began with two on Saturday when they took on the reigning state champions and #1 ranked Sacred Heart followed by a game against Oldham County. Monday they traveled to Hopkinsville to play the Lady Tigers.

Against Sacred Heart, the game was scoreless until the final minutes of the game that included a 30 minute heat delay. Sacred Heart scored two goals by Aubrey Nolan and Audrey Higginbotham in the final minutes for the 2-0 win. Lady Marshals keeper Parker Perry had 10 saves.

Later on Saturday, they picked up a 1-0 win over Oldham County on a goal by Hope Howard with an assist to Kallen Fuller. The goal came in the final 10 seconds of the game. Perry had five saves in the shut out.

Monday against Hopkinsville, the JV squad was up 4-0 at halftime when the game was called due to lightning. After a weather delay, the varsity game got underway and remained scoreless until the final two minutes before the half when Kelsey Crass found the net on an assist by Anna Robertson for a 1-0 lead.

Three second half goals gave them a 4-0 win and their sixth shut out of the season and improve to 7-2. Those goals were from Mia Teague on an assist by Robertson, Teague again on an assist by Crass and Zoe Maxlow.

Thursday, the Lady Marshals JV and varsity will play at Madisonville-North Hopkins then host the DC Electric Lady Marshals Classic Friday and Saturday. They will meet Anderson County (2-4-1) on Friday at 7:30 and play Daviess County (2-6-1) at 5:30 on Saturday.
