Milling and Paving along U.S. 641 in Marshall County Starts Wednesday, Aug 18

PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 17, 2021)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans milling and paving along a section of U.S. 641/Kentucky Lake Road in northern Marshall County starting Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

This project runs along U.S. 641/Kentucky Lake Road from the U.S. 68 intersection at mile point 12.862 in Draffenville extending northward to Red River Road at mile point 17.938, a distance of just over 5 miles.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.  Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Jim Smith Contracting, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $751,120 highway improvement project.  The work is expected to take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
