Track team competes at Indoor State Championships, 3 new school records set

Competing for the first time in two years after the 2020 spring season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several members of track and field team traveled to Louisville on Saturday to compete in the KTCCCA Class AAA Indoor State Championships.

Three new indoor school records were set at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center track along with several personal records.

Taking first and setting a new indoor school record – the boy’s 4 x 400m relay team with a time of 3:33.94. Team members are Will Davis, Cade Flatt, Isaiah Kirby and Jackson Miller.

Cade Flatt finished second in the 1500m while setting a new indoor school record time of 4:01.81.  On Feb. 14 at the TFC USA Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Ala., Flatt took first in the 800m and set a new indoor school record and PR with a time of 1:56.42.

Finishing third and setting another new indoor school record – the boy’s 4 x 800m relay with a time of 8:31.29. Team members are Ethan McCarty, Samuel Lanham, Kiefer Court and Will Davis.

Caleb Pahl placed second in the pole vault with 14-06. On Feb. 7 in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Pahl cleared 15-00 to set a new personal and school indoor record.
