Monday’s COVID-19 protocol cancelation against Carlisle County left the CFS Lady Eagles with a week off from competition when they took the floor against Livingston Central on Thursday. Just shy of picking up win number four on the season, the Lady Eagles lost to the Lady Cardinals 54-51.

CFS led 11-4 at the end of the first quarter but Livingston poured in 17 points in the second quarter and another 17 in the third quarter to lead 38-29 heading into the fourth. CFS out-scored Livingston 22-16 in the fourth quarter – led by Gracie Howard and Lillian Burnett with eight point each – but the late game surge came up three points shy.

Howard led the CFS scoring with 19 points and was 7/8 at the free throw line. Burnett followed with 14 points along with a team-leading 10 rebounds. Lauren Wring led Livingston with 25 points, Victoria Joiner had 13 and 10 for Maggie Downey.

The 3-4 Lady Eagles play at home against Hickman County (3-1) on Monday.
