UPDATE: Closure of KY 2208 at Cane Creek Culvert in Hickman County Extended to October 28

PADUCAH, KY (Oct. 13, 2020)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has extended the closure of KY 2208 in central Hickman County to Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

This extended closure of KY 2208 at mile point 0.25 is to allow the Cane Creek Culvert to be replaced with a pre-fabricated aluminum arch culvert.  This closure of KY 2208 is about 1/4th mile north of the KY 58 intersection near the Crowley Community.

KY 2208 closed at this site on October 5 and was expected to be closed for 2 weeks.  However, the completion date had to be moved back when delivery of the pre-fabricated aluminum culvert was delayed.

There is no marked detour.  However, motorists may self-detour at the North end of KY 2208 via KY 1708 and KY 575.

Construction of a pre-fab aluminum culvert for this site is less expensive than a traditional concrete culvert.  The pre-fab structure speeds up the construction process to reduce the length of the closure from months to weeks.

The target completion date is now Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
