Yates takes first, Sandlin third in middle school cross country meet

This past Saturday, the Marshall County Middle boy’s and girl’s cross-country team competed in their first meet of the season.

Calculating times from both the morning and afternoon races, the boy’s team was first in the middle school division. Kobey Yates finished in first place with a time of 9:05.87 and Daniel Walker finished in second place with a time of 9:55.87. Other team members running were Dallas Sutherland in 10th place (11:07.22), Kiefer Siress 12th place (11:07.71), Grayson Ragsdale 15th (11:17.70), Isaac Darnell 17th (11:35.40), and Maxson Mitchell 18th (11:35.73).

In the girls race Eden Sandlin finished in third place with a time of 11:03.54, and Ann Marie Peffer placed ninth with a time of 11:53.71.

All runners ran very well and achieved personal best times. Both teams are back in action on Saturday at Muhlenberg County.
