Work Zone Restriction on KY 994/Old Mayfield Rd in Paducah starting Wed, Sept 16

Paducah, KY (Sept 11, 2020) A contractor for Paducah Water Works plans a northbound work zone lane restriction and a southbound detour on a section of KY 994/Old Mayfield Road in Paducah on Wednesday and Thursday, September 16 & 17, 2020.

This work zone on KY 994/Old Mayfield Road at McCracken County mile point 8.7 is to allow permanent pavement repairs at the site of a water main break back in August. The utility crew patched the area with cold mix to allow it to settle before returning to make this more permanent pavement repair.

This work zone along KY 994 between Cornell Street and Alabama Street will include a closure of the southbound lane. Southbound traffic on KY 994/Old Mayfield Road should self-detour via an alternate route. This closure is just south of the Schneidman Road Y intersection.

Northbound traffic on KY 994/Old Mayfield Road will be restricted to one lane along the work zone.

This work zone restriction and self-detour is expected to be in place from approximately 8 a.m., CDT, on Wednesday, September 16 to approximately 3 p.m., on Thursday, September 17.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
