At Murray Country Club Thursday, the Marshals won a match against Murray and St. Mary with a team score of 144 – 11 strokes better than second place St. Mary with 155. The Marshall County ‘B’ team placed third with 160 and Murray finished fourth at 176.
Jay Nimmo fired a 4-under par 32 to lead all scorers. Behind Nimmo, Marshall scoring came from Trey Wall with a 1-under 35, Camdyn McLeod shot 38, Preston Futrell 39 and Ryan Stokes 40.
The Marshall ‘B’ team was led by David Jack Morris carding a 1-under 35. Making up the rest of the team results, Hayden Powell shot 38, Gunner Hoover 42, Drake Butler 45 and Tate Scillion 46.
Individually, following Nimmo’s 32, Wall and Morris tied for second along with St. Mary’s Rocco Zakutney – all with rounds of 35.
The Marshals and Lady Marshals will host the Marshall County Invitational at Calvert City Country Club on Sept. 5.
