Class of 2020 – Christian Cosner

Christian is a middle distance specialist entering his fourth season with the Marshall County boy’s track team. Coming into his senior season, Christian had posted a 54.97 in the 400 meters and 2:10.54 in the 800 meters. He was looking to improve in both of those events – focusing on more speed work with the sprints.

Christian was a staple in the 4 x 800 meter relay and according to Coach Andrew Johnston, “Christian is a prime example of how track functions as a team sport. Christian always valued the 4x800m relay over his individual races and was dedicated to the team in that regard. He will be greatly missed and his shoes will be hard to fill.”

Christian currently holds the program’s fifth fastest 4 x 800 meter relay time in school history with an 8:14.54 and was selected to the Class 3A and All-Area 1 First Teams in that event last season. He was also one of Marshall County’s top cross country athletes, helping lead the Marshals to a seventh place finish at state – the best Marshall County finish in over 20 years. He earned a Class 3A Region 1 First Team selection and All-Area 1 Second Team selection.

His future plans are to attend the Air Force Academy and major in mechanical engineering.
