Southbound U.S. 641 Restricted to One Lane at the North Edge of Murray starting Today, March 26

PADUCAH, Ky. (March 26, 2020) — A contractor for the City of Murray plans a work zone lane restriction for southbound traffic on U.S. 641/North 12th Street at the north edge of Murray starting today, March 26, 2020.

This work zone at U.S. 641 Calloway County mile point 8.8 is to allow placement of a crane and other equipment required to install pilings and pour concrete footers for a new pedestrian bridge over Bee Creek.

This is along U.S 641/North 12th Street just north of the KY 121 intersection near the entrance to Walmart and the Murray Chamber of Commerce.

This initial work zone lane restriction for southbound traffic is expected to be in place for about 2 to 4 days depending on weather conditions. Some minor delays are possible during movement and positioning of equipment required to facilitate the work.

Additional lane and shoulder restrictions may be required from time to time as construction on the pedestrian bridge progresses.

The worksite is along the west side of U.S. 641 and should only impact southbound traffic.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this project for the City of Murray.
