KY 1485/Bellville Road Closed near 1mm in Graves County Due to Damaged Culvert

PADUCAH, Ky. (March 25, 2020) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed a section of KY 1485/Bellville Road in southern Graves County due to a damaged culvert.

KY 1485/Bellville Road is closed at mile point 1.13 southwest of the Bell City community where recent flash flooding has damaged a 12 foot culvert that carries a small branch of Terrapin Creek. This closure is along KY 1485/Bellville Road just north of the Jetton Road intersection and just over a mile north of the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line. KY 1485/Bellville Road connects to Boydsville Road in Tennessee.

The Graves County Highway Maintenance Crew and KYTC engineers are assessing damage to the culver today with plans to start repairs on Thursday. Due to the depth and size of the culvert, repair work may take several days. There is a possibility that the culvert may need to be replaced. That could require a more extended closure.

There will be no marked detour.

KYTC engineers will provide timely updates as the repair work progresses.
