Jane Carol Barriger, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her home in Paducah.
Ms. Barriger was born in Cunningham, KY on November 20, 1940 to the late Roy and Evalena Holmes Lucy. She attended Broadway Church of Christ and Full Gospel Mission. She was a traveling Notary who was a member of the National Notary Association and also a bookkeeper for multiple businesses. She was a co-owner of Southside Auto Parts with her former husband, Brodie Barriger. She was also asecretary at Carlisle County Elementary and the Carlisle County Board of Education.
Jane Carol loved flowers, history and had a thirst to learn. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her close friends.
She will be remembered for being reserved yet proactive and hard working.
Ms. Barriger is survived by her daughter, Melanie Carol Carrico and husband, Tim, of Cunningham; her son, Ken Barriger and wife, Jennifer, of Cunningham; one sister, Rexene Fowler of Athens, Georgia; one niece, Debbie Jarvis; six grandchildren, Kara Nicole Hockett of Mesa, AZ, Michael Lee Comer of Bardwell, Whitney Carol Burgess of San Angelo, TX, Kevin Dale Barriger of Fort Bragg, NC, Brandon Scott Barriger of Cunningham, and Brett William Barriger of La Center; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Marilyn McComb officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
