Eastbound lane restriction on I-24 near Kentucky end of Ohio River Bridge at Paducah on Thursday, March 5

PADUCAH, Ky. (March 4, 2020) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a work zone lane restriction along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 in McCracken County on Thursday morning, March 5, 2020.

This work zone near the 1-mile marker immediately at the Kentucky end of the I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Metropolis and Paducah is to allow installation of a new Kentucky welcome sign.

Due to guardrail along this section, the sign contractor plans to restrict I-24 eastbound traffic to one lane starting at approximately 9 a.m., CST, Thursday, to allow placement of equipment required to facilitate the work.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic with all eastbound traffic moving to the left-hand or passing lane immediately at the Kentucky end of the bridge.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic.  This work zone is expected to be active for approximately 2 hours.
