On the chilly waters of Kentucky Lake, Saturday at 7:30 am, 180 anglers making up 90 teams from 18 schools, took off from Kentucky Dam Marina in the 2020 Icebreaker hosted by Marshall County. It was a great start to the new year for the Marshall County Bass Fishing Team, taking second in the field behind first place Muhlenberg County.

Muhlenberg County’s total weight of 41-14 ran away with the win. Marshall County just edged McCracken County for second place with 22-9 and the Mustangs finished third with 21-5. Muhlenberg County took the top two team spots on their way to Saturday’s team win. First place went to Timmy Dorris and Coleman Bingham with a five-fish limit of 18-7 and second to the team of Jackson Kulijof and Lane Tooley with five fish weighing in at 16-9.

Rounding out the top three was the Marshall County duo of Sam Mann and Braxton Smith with a four fish weight of 9-10.

Big Bass went to Muhlenberg County’s CJ Stanley and Kamden Knight with a 5 lb. 4 oz. bass.

The team will be on the water again in competition on Kentucky Lake this Saturday, Feb. 29 in the McCracken County tournament at Kentucky Dam. They will host the Irish Spring tournament on March 14, also at Kentucky Dam.
