Four school records fall at UK High School Invitational

Marshall County track and field season officially kicked off on Saturday at their first indoor meet of the season in Lexington at the UK High School Invitational competing among hundreds of athletes from 20 states across the US as well as Canada and the Bahamas.

Four indoor school records were broken as well as personal records set for three athletes and a relay team starting with Cade Flatt’s 10th place in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.22, Justin Wilson finished 28th in the 60 meter high hurdles in 8.78, Will Davis placed 39th in the 400 meters in 52.18 and the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Isaiah Kirby, Sean Janiec, Jackson Miller and Will Davis finished 10th in 3:34.17. Wilson also finished 16th in the triple jump with 40-06.00.

The girl’s will begin their season on Saturday at SIU and follow that up with a meet on Feb. 27 in Marion, IL. The boy’s will compete again on Feb. 29 in Marion, IL.
