Calvert City is the place to be this weekend. (December 6 & 7) Chelsy Solomon with the Lakeland Event Center in Calvert joined WCBL’s Chris Freeland on Coffee Call. Friday night there will be a sneak peak of the Christmas Bazaar and the lighting of the 26 foot Christmas tree at 6. Saturday morning there will be a 5K run. You can register at Memorial Park that morning and then there’s a fun run with Santa at 9:30, with a free sock beanie for all participants. The Calvert City Christmas Bazaar is Saturday from 9 to 4. Over 100 vendors at four locations. The Civic Center and elementary school on 5th Avenue, Calvert United Methodist Church on Oak Park Boulevard and Lakeland Event Center on Hwy 62, where you can also purchase raffle tickets for the beautiful quilt you see pictured here. And then the famous Calvert City Lighted Christmas Parade at 6.
