UPDATE: KSP Investigating Officer Involved Shooting in Calloway County

Dexter, KY (November 3rd, 2019) –The KSP Critical Incident Response Team is awaiting the results of an autopsy conducted in Madisonville this morning. The deceased subject has been identified as John D. Hale, 42, of Almo, Kentucky. Further details surrounding the incident along with the names of the officers involved will not be released at this time due to the continuing investigation.

Dexter, KY (November 2nd, 2019) –After further investigation, a Calloway County sheriff’s deputy and an officer with the Murray Police Department responded to Radio Road in the Dexter community regarding a suspicious person. Following an altercation with law enforcement, a male subject was fatally shot. Neither officer was injured during the altercation. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, November 3rd, in Madisonville, Kentucky. The names of the deceased and the officers involved are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Dexter, KY (November 2nd, 2019)Detectives with Kentucky State Police Post 1 and the KSP Critical Incident Response Team are currently investigating an officer-involved shooting in the Dexter community of Calloway County. KSP received notification of the incident at approximately 1:30 p.m. and are on scene at this time. Preliminary investigation shows multiple officers in Calloway County responded to the Dexter community reference a suspicious person. As KSP conducts their investigation, more details will be made available.
