Marshall County volleyball celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday with a win over Hickman County. The Lady Marshals swept the Lady Falcons winning the JV match 2-0 (22-20, 21-15) and the Varsity match 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-18).
Three seniors were recognized before the Varsity match – Jessica Hicks, Natalie Boward and Jayln Bedwell.
“This was a great game to end the seniors’ home play”, Coach Laura Kinder said. “Jessica, Natalie, and Jalyn have worked so hard and have shown great dedication to this team, and they will be missed dearly. We are playing well right now and we are optimistic as we enter the post-season.”
Tuesday’s win followed up a Lady Marshals sweep on Monday over Crittenden County. The Freshman squad won 2-0 (21-7, 21-14), JV won 2-1 (21-14, 15-21, 21-13) and the Varsity 2-0 (25-13, 25-22).
In the two wins, Jessica Hicks led in kills with a combined 20 followed by Halle Langhi with 13. Alyssa McClain led in aces with seven and blocks with four. Hicks had 18 digs and McKenzie Elkins had eight. Clara Bradley led in assists with 30 and Peyton Gresham recorded 18.
The Lady Marshals improved to 18-14 with the two wins and will play their final regular season match Thursday at Community Christian Academy starting with the freshman at 5:00.
