Everett Lyles, 88

Everett W. Lyles, age 88, of Paducah passed away at 7:04 a.m. Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Baptist Health Paducah. Everett was a long time member of First Christian Church of Paducah. He retired from Safeguard Business Systems where he worked as a Salesman. He sold magnetic jewelry on week ends at Traders Mall. Everett and wife, Jeane were full-time RV-er’s, and enjoyed their six months of the year in Florida.

He was a graduate of Mayfield High School and was a member of the football team, wore number 8 jersey and had the nickname of “Rolo.” He was playing in the football game on Thanksgiving day against Tilghman when the weather changed during the game from short sleeve to anything that you could find to keep you warm. He continued to be a supporter of the Mayfield Cardinal Football Program and was interviewed many times during the years about his years playing football.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynda Lyles; one son, Everett (Jill) Lyles III; one step-daughter, Michele (Jay) Venable all of Paducah; four grandchildren, Erin (Ben) Morehead, Evan (Bethany) Lyles, Lauren Venable and Brittany Venable; 10 great-grandchildren, Emmett Morehead, Elyse Morehead, Mac Lyles, Wes Lyles, Jonathan Venable, Mahlee Martin, Laurentz Casey, Amari Williams, Jayven Williams and Kearan Williams.

Preceding in death was his first wife, Nancy Lyles; second wife, Jeane VanHooser Lyles; parents, Evertt William Lyles Sr. & Ruth Ackert Lyles; two sisters, Janet Bunn and Barbara Lowery.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Urn burial will be Metropolis Masonic Cemetery at a later date.
