Receiving the opening the kick, the Marshals began from their own 44 yard line, driving 17 yards before turning the ball over on downs on the Daviess County 39. The Panthers turned two plays into points, scoring on an 18 yard run by Shane Riley, the two-point conversion attempt failed to lead 6-0.

On their next possession, the Marshals put together a 46 yard drive, scoring on four yard run by Luke Wyatt to tie 6-6 following a failed extra point kick attempt.

Daviess County scored 24 points in the second quarter starting with a 50 yard drive, the touchdown coming on a 14 yard pass from Joe Humphreys to Decker Renfrow to go up 13-6. Lance Newman went 48 yards on the Panthers next possession to put them up 20-6 and following a fumble by the Marshals, Daviess County had just 35 yards to the end zone, Renfrow taking it in for a 27-6 lead.

Marshall County recovered a Daviess County fumble at their own 29 yard line with under a minute to go until halftime but with 12 second remaining, the Panthers recovered a Marshals fumble and turned it into three points on a 44 yard field goal by Carter Hoagland to lead 30-6 at halftime.
