Mr. Earl “Sonny” McManus, age 64, of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his residence.
He was a member of Seven Oaks Church of Christ, a Sunday School Teacher, a member of Kentucky Education Association, a former member of the Kiwanis Club and a former chairman and board member for New Pathways. Mr. McManus was a retired teacher from Graves County High School and principal of the Mayfield Youth Development Center. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. McManus is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jane Foy McManus; two daughters, Amanda McManus (Anthony) VanCura of Symsonia, KY and Meredith (Robert) Zeh of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Shirley Rodgers of Folsomdale, KY, Brenda Forrest of Bowling Green, KY, Norma Stewart of Coldwater, KY and Jackie (Jim) Burnett of Mayfield, KY; one granddaughter, Anna Kay VanCura; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Burnett and his parents, Earl and Eunice Edwards McManus.
Funeral services for Mr. Earl “Sonny” McManus, Jr. will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Josh Ketchum will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kim Wilson, Marty Moses, Joel Crider, Ronnie Dunn, Barry Youngblood and Jerry McIntosh.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the funeral home.
