Sunday morning, August 15, the Marshall County Rescue Squad was paged to Kentucky Dam Marina concerning a report of a person in the water. According to Marshall County Rescue Squad, after a brief search, divers recovered the body of a 14 year old male.
Back in May, Brandon Martinez was reported as a missing person by the Paducah Police Department, but he was found after that report.
The Marshall County Coroner’s Office released that Martinez died of an accidental drowning following an autopsy on Monday. Martinez was a sophomore at Marshall County High School.
The Rescue Squad was aided on the scene by Calvert City Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, East Marshall and Gilbertsville Fire Departments, McCracken County Rescue Squad, McCracken County Emergency Management, Marshall County Emergency Management and Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
