Lady Marshals sixth at Bluegrass Invitational

The Kentucky Golf Coaches Association (KGCA) current points standings rank Marshall County girls ninth in the state. The Lady Marshals continued their impressive tournament play to start the season with a sixth place finish at Heritage Hill Country Club in Shepherdsville in the Bluegrass Invitational.

So far this season in tournament play, the Lady Marshals have recorded two first place finishes, two fourth place finishes, a fifth and sixth – among the state’s top teams. Saturday’s team score of 351 among a field of 18 teams was put together by Savannah Howell who led with a 79, Megan Herrter shot 84, Kenley Luksic 89, Sarah Umbarger 99 and Elsie Riley finished with 102.

Howell’s current individual ranking in the state in points standings is 17th followed by Hertter at 23rd.

Marshall County golf will host the Marshall County Invitational on Saturday at Calvert City Country Club. A field of nearly 200 golfers from all over the state are scheduled to compete. The girls tee off at 7:30 am and the boys at 1:00 pm.
