Carla Gay Shields, age 74, of Paducah passed away at 5:34 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Carla was a member of Victory Assembly of God Church and a a native of New Orleans, LA. She retired from Wal-Mart, where she served as an associate. Carla loved flowers and pink roses was her favorite and enjoyed shoppingl. Carla’s favorite past time was spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Alvin Eugene Shields; two daughters, Sherri (John) Goodwin of Reidland, KY and Lisa (Hank) Blankenship of Paducah; five grandchildren, Amanda Beasley, Austin Beasley, Connor Goodwin, Ainsley Blankenship and Grayson Blankenship; two great-grandchildren, Rhemmi Beasley and Hudson Beasley; four sisters, Patsy Garrett, July Holland, Becky Cortines and Sybol Wilhite and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her parents, Carl Booker Rutledge & Florine Barker Rutledge.
Services will be held today, Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Gary DeRossett officiating, Burial will follow at Brook Hill Memorial Gardens and Mausoleums. Visitation will be held today, August 13, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
