Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles competed in the annual Bluegrass Games in Lexington, KY, August 2 – 4. In Friday’s Pool Play games, the Lady Eagles beat Southwestern High School 2-1 (21-16, 20-22, 15-12) and lost 2-0 to North Bullitt (21-19, 21-14).
Saturday, the Lady Eagles played three games against Somerset, Loyd Memorial, and Newport Central Catholic winning all three. They defeated Somerset 2-0 (21-7, 21-15), Loyd Memorial 2-0 (20-13, 21-9) and Newport Central Catholic 2-0 (22-20, 21-14).
In Sunday’s tournament play, the Lady Eagles beat Scott County 2-0 (21-16, 21-18) and Washington County 2-0 (21-17, 23-22) and fell to Bardstown 20-0 (21-16, 21-18) to finish the weekend with a championship in the Flight 5 bracket.
CFS will play a scrimmage game at Ballard Memorial August 13 and open the regular season at Paducah Tilghman August 20.
