Night work zone along I-24 in McCracken County starting tonight

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a moving night work zone along Interstate 24 in McCracken County starting tonight.

This is a continuation of a project that started in June to mill and fill pavement at bridge ends along I-24 between milepoint 13.352 and milepoint 2.2.   Rain has delayed the work.

The project has been moved to night paving to help reduce traffic delays.

The contractor plans to work between Exit 4 and Exit 7 tonight.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they encounter this moving work zone.  Motorists should watch for message boards providing info about traffic configuration during the overnight work.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

As a reminder, all ramps at I-24/U.S. 60 Paducah Exit 4 are closed with a marked detour via the Exit 3 interchange. I-24 and U.S. 60 remain open through the Exit 4 interchange, there is no ramp access.
