Beginning Monday, July 22nd at 9 a.m. construction crews will divert traffic on Poplar St. to 6th St. (the street between Regions Bank and Hutchens). You won’t be able to access any businesses beyond 6th on Poplar, but can take alternate routes to reach these businesses.
Also, at the intersection of 5th and Main (by Parkway Chrysler) there will be 2 way traffic on Main up to Regions Bank. Smith Construction will be making storm drain improvements and running large culverts to the creek to relieve some of the flooding issues in this area.
Traffic will be moving slowly. This work could continue for 6-8 weeks but hopefully will be completed earlier.
