Milling & Paving Planned along KY 1936, KY 1949, & KY 2606 in Marshall County starting Monday, July 15

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling & paving along three Marshall County highways starting Monday, July 15, 2019.

Motorists should be alert for milling operations at the following locations with paving to follow:

  • KY 1936/George Clark Road South from the KY 795 intersection at milepoint 0.0 extending northward to the US 68 intersection at milepoint 2.453
  • KY 1949/Wadesboro Road from the KY 408 intersection near the 9 mile marker extending northward to the Graves County Line at milepoint 12.074, a distance of 2.99 miles
  • KY 2606/Jackson School Road from the KY 402 intersection at milepoint 0.0 extending northward to the KY 58 intersection at milepoint 4.353

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers in these work zones.  Some delays are possible during the movement and positioning of equipment to facilitate the work.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $730,743 group highway improvement project.  The work is expected to take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
