Marshall County softball player and future Campbellsville Lady Tiger, Addie Young, was presented with the “Above and Beyond” award at the East-West All-Star banquet this past weekend. The award was given to Young in recognition of her outstanding character, not only as a player but as someone who gives back to the sport she loves and her community.
Young volunteered as a middle school coach the past two years for North Marshall Middle School’s softball team, coached by Nathan McDowell and Lyne Dickey. Young was at every practice and every game, working one on one with many of the players. She has spent a lot of time and effort working with players who will impact the future of the Lady Marshals softball program.
“Addie is a great role model and the committee was impressed with her efforts to give back and surprised her with the award”, Lady Marshals Head Coach Mallory Newton said. Newton presented the award to her at Saturday’s East-West All-Stars banquet.
