Margarita Hyde, 73

Margarita “Margie” Hyde, 73 of Paducah, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

She was born on June 10, 1945 in Cebu, Philippines to the late Cepriano Sanchez and Placeda (Gealon) Sanchez.

Margie was a surgical tech at Western Baptist Hospital for 34 years. She was the founder and creative director for the Zerdali Middle Easter Dance troupe. She was a certified Zumba instructor and aquatic zumba instructor for many years. She was member of F.A.F.A.F., Filipino American Families and Friends of Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois and also a member of Daughters of Isabella. Margie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was a minister of hospitality. She loved to work in her flower garden and to sew, embroider and quilt. She was known for her excellent baking skills, especially for her bread baking. She was a wonderful and loving mother to her West Highland White Terrier, Bentley.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Larry Hyde of Paducah; one daughter, Lori Hyde Banister (Shane) of Princeton; three sisters, Bening Angga of Davao City, Philippines, Lita Labajo of Cebu, Philippines, Minda Dellosa of Davoa City, Philippines; one brother, Cepriano Sanchez Jr. of Davao City, Philippines; two grandsons, Devan Logan Oliver and Brycen Shane Banister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Pacing Acle; two brothers, Fredo Sanchez and Tony Sanchez.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hickory Cemetery in Eddyville.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with prayers at 5 :00 PM.
