Extended Closure of KY 139/South Road in TRIGG County starting Monday, June 3rd

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a section of KY 139/South Road in Trigg County starting Monday, June 3, 2019.

KY 139/South Road will be closed at Trigg County milepoint 13.38 to allow rehabilitation work and placement of a new deck on the Burge Creek Bridge.  This extended closure is along KY 139/South Road between KY 525/New Hope Road and KY 272/Canton Pike.

There will be a marked detour.

This work zone has been active in recent weeks as the contractor has had ongoing sub-structure work and other preliminary work to prepare for reconstruction of the bridge deck that will require the roadway to close starting June 3rd.  The contractor may keep the roadway closed for up to 60 days for construction of the new deck with additional work once the roadway reopens.

Harold Coffee Construction Company, Inc, is the prime contractor on this $1.24 Million bridge rehabilitation project  The target completion date for this project is August 31, 2019.

This bridge rehabilitation project is part of the Bridging Kentucky Program which aims to rehabilitate or replace 1,000 critical bridges across the Commonwealth over the next six years.  For more information go to www.bridgingkentucky.com.
