Eastbound Work Zone Lane Restriction on I-24 near 10mm in McCracken County Today

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has restricted traffic to one lane on I-24 EASTBOUND near The KY 1954/Husband’s Road Interchange at Paducah.

The contractor is working on repairs to the median cable barrier in this area.  All traffic is being moved to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone.  The eastbound lane restriction has slowed traffic creating about a 3 mile backup.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter slowed or stopped traffic as they approach the US 45/Lone Oak Road Exit 7 Interchange at Paducah.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

KYTC engineers hope to have an update on this work zone from the contractor this afternoon.
