The Mat in Benton, KY, home of the MatPack competition cheer team will host a send-off for MatPack Untamed on Tuesday, May 7 at 7:30 PM at their gym. The Mat is located at 176 Beechwood Ln, Benton, KY 42025.
Untamed is the Youth Level 1 team made up of 7-11 year olds. They received their bid to The Summit, a national championship hosted by Varsity All Star in Orlando, Florida, after receiving their National Championship in St. Louis in February. The bid advances the team directly to the semi-finals where they will compete against 65 other teams in their division. Only 20 teams will be selected to advance to the finals which are held Sunday, following the semi-finals on Saturday. Untamed is the first MatPack team to receive a bid to The Summit.
The send-off will include a final performance for the public and celebration before the team leaves Wednesday morning to travel to Disney World for the competition.
