Westbound Lane Restriction & Ramp Closure at I-24/I-69 Exit 25 Interchange near Calvert City Starting Wednesday, April 3rd

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a work zone lane restriction for westbound traffic and ramp closure in the I-24/I-69 Exit 25 Interchange near Calvert City starting Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

While the interchange has been open for almost a year, the contractor has a number of finish items including erosion control, landscaping, setting drainage head walls, and other activities to complete the project.

Westbound traffic I-24 traffic will be restricted to one lane starting near the US 62 Calvert City Exit 27 Interchange and continuing along the I-24 westbound lanes through the Exit 25 Interchange.  This work will also require the westbound entry at US 62 Exit 27 to be closed during the work.

This westbound lane restriction along I-24 and westbound entry ramp closure from US 62 is expected to be in place from approximately 7:00 a.m., CDT, to about 4:00 p.m., each weekday, through about Friday, April 12th.

Message boards will direct traffic along a short detour for the closed ramp.

Motorists should use appropriate caution in this work zone.  No weekend work is planned and the work zone lane restriction will be removed at the end of each day.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on the $37.8 million interchange reconstruction project.
