Marshall County KY Sheriff’s Office Weekly Report

On 03-13-2019 Capt. Lane was dispatched to a roll over collision with injuries on I-69. The collision occurred at around 06:40 AM in the north bound lane at exit 43. The operator of the vehicle stated that he had been behind a slower moving vehicle in the right lane. The operator stated that he merged into the left lane to pass the vehicle. For unknown reasons the vehicle veered toward the left lane which the operator was now in. Operator stated that he swerved to avoid contact then ran off the left shoulder impacting the median. The vehicle then rolled on it’s roof and slid across both south bond lanes exiting the emergency shoulder. The vehicle continued to roll striking a fence and crossing Old Symsonia Road. The operator was treated and transport to MCH by Marshall County EMS. Benton PD and Benton Fire Department also responded. A short time later the operator Mr. Michael Lumson was airlifted to a Nashville hospital for further care.

On 03-14-2019 just after midnight deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 21 mile marker of I-24 east bound. This was in reference to a collision involving 3 semi trucks and trailers. At the time of the collision storms were rolling through our area with strong crosswinds. The first semi lost control and rolled over as a result of weather. This vehicle was blocking both east bound lanes. The 2nd and 3rd semi’s involved could not stop in time and struck the trailer of the semi that was blocking the travel lanes. Only one operator was transported to a hospital with non life threatening injuries. Deputy Strader was the investigating officer on scene. Other responding agencies were Marshall County EMS, Possum Trot-Sharpe FD, Calvert City FD, Palma-Briensburg FD, & Marshall County Rescue Squad. Responding wreckers were Glen’s, Bailey’s, and Lent’s. The east bound lanes were fully opened at 09:30.

On 03-15-2019 Deputy Stone with court security served a bench warrant on Mr. Michael Delapp.
Deputy Rudd served a warrant on Mr. Joshua Goomey.
Deputy Greenfield served two warrants on Mr. Caleb Wagers and one warrant on Ms. Ashley Abbas.

On 03-16-2019 Deputy Greenfield conducted a traffic stop on Mrs. Marsha Marsh. Marsh was cited for traffic violations. Deputy Greenfield was given consent to search the vehicle. Deputy Greenfield came in contact with the passenger Mr. Albert Marsh. As result of the investigation Mr. Marsh was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offence (cocaine), possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, possession of synthetic drugs 1st offence.

On 03-17-2019 Deputy Peck served two Marshall County Warrants on Mr. Jackie L. Johnson.
