Marshall County’s International Toastmaster’s June “Mama June” Culp won First Place in the Area 42, International Speech Contest, Saturday, March 16, 2019, that was held in in Evansville, Indiana. On March 30, “Mama June” Culp will compete against other Area First Place Winners in the Division D Toastmasters International Speech Contest which will also be held in Evansville, Indiana.
“Mama June” a resident of Paducah, Kentucky, volunteers at Marcella’s Kitchen, and has often delighted crowds at the Kentucky Opry, and the Etcetera Coffeehouse with her humorous whit.
Toastmasters International Clubs or Chapters are all over not only the United States, but even around the world. It is designed to help individuals to be better communicators through speaking practice, and leadership training skills. Toastmasters describes its’ International Speech Contest as unlike the other speech contests , each district winner goes on to the Toastmasters International Convention to compete for the title of World Champion of Public Speaking.
