William South, Jr., 89

William “Bill” M. South, Jr., 89, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 1:42 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah. He was born in Vidalia, Georgia. Bill was the retired owner and operator of Bill South Construction Company and was retired from Westvaco. He was an active member of Concord United Methodist Church and the Home Builders Association. Bill built many homes, commercial buildings and churches in the Paducah area. Bill was active in doing projects and improvements to several local churches. He also had built homes in Brunswick, Georgia when he lived there and moved to Maine before coming to Paducah. Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Vannie Meeks South of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Deborah South Brown and husband, George “Sonny” Brown of Paducah, Kentucky; son, William Wayne South of Paducah, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Corey Brown and wife Marisa of Paducah, Kentucky, Wesley Brown of Paducah, Kentucky and Marla Jo Zingales of Mantua, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Ethan Cole Brown, Aiden Luke Brown, Simone Vanessa Zingales and Alexa Sloane Zingales.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, LaFaye Smith South; four sisters and two brothers. His parents were William Melton South, Sr. and Lera Loree Cribbs South.

Private family graveside services will be held at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with Rev. Dean Emerson officiating.

Private family visitation will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
