Marshall County KY Sheriff’s Office Weekly Report

On 03-03-2019 Deputy Z. Johnson conducted a traffic stop on Ms. Carrie Webb. As a result of his investigation Webb was arrested and charged with rear license not illuminated, failure to signal, operating on suspended license, possession of controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), and drug paraphernalia. Webb had a male passenger in the vehicle with her. The male was identified as Toby May. May was also arrested for giving officer a false name, possession of controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), and drug paraphernalia.

On 03-03-2019 Deputy Johnson was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle sitting in a driveway. On Deputy Johnson’s arrival he observed a male who was identified as David L. Riley in the drivers seat. Riley seemed to be passed out with the vehicle in gear and his foot on the brake. After further investigation Riley was charged with DUI 3rd offence, no insurance, operating on suspended license, disorderly conduct, possession of controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Riley was also arrested on a Graves County warrant for bail jumping.

On 03-05-2019 Sgt. Curtner conducted a traffic stop on Christopher Brannam. Sgt. Curtner was assisted by Deputy Peck. Upon contact with the operator, Brannam deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. As a result of the investigation Brannam was charged and arrested for failure to dim headlights, operating on suspended of revoked license, possession of controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
The passenger Andrea Crain was also arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), and possession of marijuana.

On 03-05-2019 a short time after Andrea Cain was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Detention Center, a deputy jailer from the detention center called for a deputy to respond to the facility. Deputy Howell responded and charged Cain with promoting contraband due to a smoking device being recovered from Cain.

On 03-05-2019 Deputy Peck was dispatched to a residence for an unwanted person being on the property. On Deputy Peck’s arrival he made contact with James Spiceland. After further investigation Spiceland was charged and arrested for public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), and drug paraphernalia.

On 03-05-2019 Deputy Oakley observed a vehicle run off of the road on Murray Highway and Union Hill Road. The vehicle traveled through someone’s lawn and got back on Murray Highway and continued traveling south. Deputy Oakley conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the operator, Mitch Pace. An open beer can fell to the ground when pace exited the vehicle. After further investigation and sobriety tests Pace was charged with DUI 1st, leaving the scene of an accident, no registration, no registration receipt, failure to wear seatbelt, possession of open alcohol container, failure to produce insurance card, failure to maintain insurance. Pace was transported to Marshall County Hospital for a blood test but began to experience some medical problems. Pace was cited to court so he could receive medical care.

On 03-05-2019 Deputy Oakley observed two vehicles speeding in the left hand lane of U.S. 641 North. Deputy Oakley turned on the vehicles and he observed them turn abruptly onto Dowdy Cemetery Road. The vehicles were located a short time later by Deputy Oakley on Murray Highway and he conducted a traffic stop with both vehicles. As a result of the stop Justin Seaford was charged with speeding 16 MPH over the limit, failure to produce insurance card, failure to maintain insurance, failure to wear seatbelts, improper lane use, fleeing or evading police 2nd degree.

Tevan Harper who was operating the second vehicle was charged with speeding 16 MPH over the limit and fleeing or evading police 2nd degree.

March 7th 2019, Deputies responded to an address on Walnut Grove Road in reference to information they received that a wanted subject was there. Investigation revealed that Tracy Mcleod was present and arrested on an outstanding Marshall County warrant. Deputy Barry Howell also charged Mcleod with Cultivate in Marijuana <5 plants.

On 03-07-2019 Deputy Oakley responded to a single car collision on U.S. Hwy 68 East. Mr. Terry Bowman was the operator of the vehicle. Bowman advised Deputy Oakley he swerved to avoid another vehicle that was passing ahead of him. The vehicle dropped off the right shoulder then Bowman overcorrected. The vehicle then exited the left shoulder and rolled over on its roof. Bowman was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

On Thursday, March 7, 2019, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office arrested Randall Ford for drug offenses.  Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office received information that Randall Ford was receiving and selling methamphetamine. Detective Donald Bowman obtained and executed a search warrant for 171 Aspen Street Calvert City, Ky. 42029. Detectives discovered and seized over a pound of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Detectives also searched a camper in Gilbertsville, Ky. just off Gilbertsville Hwy. where additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was seized. The methamphetamine seized has a street value of over $49,000.00. Ford was transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail. Ford is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense more than 2 grams- methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by detectives with McCracken County Sheriff’s Department and agents with Drug Enforcement Administration.

Early on 03-08-2019 Deputy Spears responded to a burglary in progress on Arant Road. On Deputy Spears arrival he spoke with the victims and they were able to give a description of the suspect and the victims called her by name. As a result of the investigation Deputy Spears located and arrested Ms. Dixie Davenport for burglary 2nd, possession of controlled substance 1st (methamphetamine), and drug paraphernalia.

On 03-08-2019 Deputy Oakley responded to a collision on U.S. Hwy 68 West. Mr. Deaven Evans had been traveling east on 68. There were two vehicles stopped in traffic in the west bound lane waiting for east bound traffic to clear to make a left turn. A white pick up truck, possibly a Frontier was traveling west. The white truck was reported to be traveling at a high rate of speed and entered the east bound lane to go around the stopped vehicles. Evans swerved to the right leaving the roadway to avoid a head on collision with the white truck. Evans was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The white truck did not stop, and there is no information about a registration plate.

On 03-08-2019 deputies received information on the whereabouts of Mr. Tommy L. Vick. Vick was located and arrested on two Marshall County bench warrants by Capt. Lane. Deputies R. Johnson and Z. Johnson assisted with the arrest.

March 8, 2019 Deputies were dispatched to a residence on U.S.68 East in reference to a disturbance. Upon further investigation, Deputy Chris Greenfield arrested and charged Matthew L McKinney of Benton with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) and Drug Paraphernalia.

March 9, 2019 Deputy Robert Johnson conducted a traffic stop on Joshua Choate of Paducah for speeding. As a result of the traffic stop and upon further investigation Choate was arrested and charged with DUI 1st as well as other traffic related offenses.

On 03-09-2019 deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office served several warrants.
Marshall And Calloway warrants were served on Ms. Michelle Childress by Deputy Greenfield.
Deputy Peck served two Marshall County warrants on Mr. John Hega.
Deputy Peck also served a McCracken County warrant on Ms. Kensey Lee.
Deputy Rudd served a Marshall County warrant on Mr. Kent Kimberlin and also served a Marshall County warrant on Ms. Michelle Cedar.

On 03-09-2019 Deputy R. Johnson conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Joshua Choate for speeding. As a result of the investigation and field sobriety testing Mr. Choate was arrested for DUI 1st offence, Speeding, failure to produce insurance card, and no registration receipt.

On 03-10-2019 Deputy Peck arrested Ms. Brittany Markowski on a McCracken County warrant.
