CFS wins in double overtime over Fulton City

Christian Fellowship’s Jan. 28 win over Hickman County (59-56) broke a 4-game losing streak but the Eagles would lose the next three against Community Christian Academy, Livingston Central and Fulton County before putting another game in the win column in a double overtime win over Fulton City 79-77 on Monday.

Led by Andrew Dunning with 25 points, CFS led by five after the first quarter and nine at halftime. Fulton City drew to within two points at the end of the third quarter ,then out-scored CFS by two to tie the game at 59 and send it into the two overtime periods with CFS pulling out the two-point win.

The Eagles (5-21) have three regular season games remaining, at Dawson Springs Friday then two games at home on Saturday in the Roundball Classic.

Against Fulton County on Feb. 6, CFS lost 80-47 and were led in scoring by Mikey Bivin with 12 points and 11 from Luke Grigg. The Eagles shot just over 26% from the floor in the loss and struggled to recover from a 26-9 Fulton County first quarter lead. Fulton County’s shooting percentage was nearly 50% in the win.

In their 54-33 loss to Livingston Central on Feb. 4, Ari Phillips led CFS with nine points, Andrew Dunning added seven. Livingston had two players in double figures, Bryce Stein with 18 and Kobe T-Roy Ringstaff with 12 points.
