Langhi, Nimmo lead Lady Marshals and Marshals in Tuesday’s games

Jay Nimmo led the Marshals with 19 points in their 66-62 loss at Paducah Tilghman Tuesday.

The Lady Marshals and Marshals were in action Tuesday evening, the girls played at home against Muhlenberg County while the boys were at Paducah Tilghman.

Halle Langhi had 17 points to help lead the Lady Marshals in their win over Muhlenberg County.

The Lady Marshals won 68-38, beating a good Muhlenberg County team that handed Murray their first of just two losses this season on Dec. 14 and beat a good Christian Academy-Louisville team who recently won the Kentucky 2A State Championship.

The Lady Marshals were led by Halle Langhi with 17 points, Layne Pea and Cayson Conner each added 12 points in the win. Destin Armour led the Lady Mustangs with 16 points. The Lady Marshals improve to 16-3 while Muhlenberg County drops to 12-8.

After losing to Paducah Tilghman by 16 points at home on Jan. 8, the Marshals hoped to even things up Tuesday. After trailing 6-0 to start the game, the Marshals finished off the first quarter with a 7-0 run to lead 11-10. A good second quarter for the Marshals gave them a four point lead at halftime, but Tilghman took the lead back in the third quarter to lead 49-43 and went on to win 66-62. The Marshals were led by Jay Nimmo with 19 points, Tilghman was led by Amirion Joyce with 20 points. Tilghman improves to 10-8 with the win, the Marshals drop to 11.
