MURRAY, Ky. — Both current and incoming Murray State University students are encouraged to complete the 2019-20 scholarship application by the deadline of 4:30 p.m. CDT on Feb. 1, 2019. Students only need to submit one scholarship application to be considered for all competitive scholarship awards for which they are eligible.
Students who are admitted as degree-seeking students or current students can access the General Scholarship Application by logging into their myGate portal.
A record number of incoming freshman students applied for the 2019-20 Presidential Fellowship in advance of the December deadline. The fellowship is the University’s highest academic scholarship award, covering the cost of tuition, on-campus housing and meal plan. Incoming students who have applied and are eligible for the Presidential Fellowship have been invited to attend the annual competition and interview date, to be held on February 9.
“A record number of applicants for the Presidential Fellowship indicates that Murray State continues to attract high-achieving individuals who strive for academic excellence in their pursuits and ambitions. This is also a testament to both the breadth and depth of our high-quality academic programs led by world-class faculty,” said Murray State Interim President Bob Jackson. “We are encouraged by the number of prospective students who have applied and been admitted to join the Racer family beginning this fall. This is truly an exciting time at Murray State.”
All admitted students are encouraged to attend the Admitted Student Weekend, to be held Feb. 8-10. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive special tours of campus, take advantage of priority sign-ups for Summer Orientation, meet faculty, staff and students, attend class lectures and workshops, and enjoy the Racer basketball game on Feb. 9 with complimentary tickets.
